Hunt Story

What a morning! We were hoping that the deer would follow the script. After following this deer on camera we knew we might have a chance. It happened just like we planned. Several smaller deer came in, and then all of a sudden there he was. He made all the other deer look like fawns. Everything was going great until he stopped between two shooting lanes. He stood there for 15 minuets, letting me get a good look at his huge rack. Just like that all the deer left. I went from the highest high to the lowest low. But God had other plans! Ten minutes later he came out of the woods at 40 yards. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He made it to 35 yards and I squeezed the trigger and nothing happened. (seems the crossbow works better with the safety off). After taking the safety off I put a clean shot on him, and he ran 40 yards and pilled up. This hunt was made possible by a very good friend and it’s one I won’t forget.
