Hunt Story
I had planned on hunting a stand further than the one I ended up sitting in. There's a hardwood draw that has lots of sign, but since the wind hadn't picked up yet, and the fact I was running late, I decided to stop at the closer stand. As I climbed up, a shooter 8-point stepped out into the gas line. By the time I made it into the stand, he was in the woods. I watched him cruise up the ridge before disappearing in the clearcut. Not 1 minute later, the buck I ended up taking came out of the hardwood draw with his nose to the ground and tail straight out. After seeing his left side, I decided he was a shooter. He dropped in his tracks and my hunt was over in less than 5 minutes. The Sunday before, I killed an 8-point that morning. In a matter of six days, I'm tagged out on bucks.
