Hunt Story
My boyfriend and I were sitting down at the pond when my dad called and said he could see another buck in the field he was sitting next to. We snuck out of the tree, walked through a field, and army crawled under a fence to get to where he was. Originally, we were looking for a buck that was down field, but my boyfriend happened to catch a doe right in front of us and then saw my buck pop his head up. My dad looked through his binoculars and said, “Oh sh!t.” I looked at him through my scope for a minute and watched him. Him and the doe started to walk. After a while, the doe took off running and he began to walk after her. I couldn’t get a clear shot because he was on a mission after her. My dad looked at my boyfriend and told him to get him to stop. My boyfriend began to grunt at him, but he only stopped for a split second. My boyfriend looked at me and asked if I was ready. I was hesitant, but I said yes. He grunted real loud at him and managed to get him to look up and stop. My dad kept looking at him through the binoculars and asked if I could get a shot. I took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. I put the gun down as we all watched what he was going to do. He stumbled for a quick second and jumped over the fence. Right as I was about to put my head down, he stumbled, hit the ground, and went belly up. Instantly my dad and boyfriend tackled me to the ground because it was my first ever deer and it just happened to be a giant buck. We all started laughing and I think a few tears started to flow from everyone. After celebrating, we got our guns and drove out to get him. Once we got up to him, they both agreed he was way bigger than they thought. My dad then realized this was not the same buck he called us about. It was easily one of the best nights ever.
