Hunt Story
It was a warm, rainy and misty afternoon. The rain had just let up around 5:30 p.m. About 10 minuets later I saw a big, dark body deer moving through the thicket I was hunting on the edge of. It would appear and disappear, appear and disappear again ... and I could never make out what it was. Finally, about 3 or 4 mins later it appeared about 60 yards up ahead of me right on the edge of the thicket... I realized it was the big body 8-point I had seen a couple of times during bow season but never presented a shot. I had not seen this deer while hunting or on camera since late Sept and I had assumed he had probably not made it through the season. The deer started to move out into the hard woods but was real spooked... he kept throwing his nose in the air checking for sent. I was hunting with a rifle this day because I have had a lot of coyotes on camera in this area. Finally, after a couple of minutes the deer finally moved and presented a good shot...
