Hunt Story

The buck walked into the field behind me, passing 10 yards to my right, I had 10 minutes left to shoot, so I had to make this count. There were four does in the field in front of me, the buck was only focused on one thing, the does. I’m sure he would have smelled me otherwise. As he continued on, I couldn’t get a clear shot, and when he was in the open all I saw was his backside. The does at this point ran for the woods, I knew that I would have to take the shot soon, or he would get away. I whistled at him when he was 10 yards from the woods. He finally stopped and turned just enough to get the shot. I shot him through the lungs into the heart because he was facing away from me. He ran 15 yards and he fell. I couldn’t believe it, my first deer ever was a 10-point buck!
