Hunt Story

My buddy took me to his father's broker's property in Monroe County on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021. We have hunted this property a few times the season prior and shot a doe, but never seen a buck, only buck sign. I climbed a field line that was recently bush hogged. The field had white oaks and pin oak trees on one side of it. I got settled in my climber about ten minutes before five and had three does in the field five minutes after I sat down. Two of the three does stayed the whole time leading to the shot. At 7:11 pm I turned around and saw what looked like a buck coming out into the field, I pulled my gun up to watch 3 more bucks come out, one of them being the deer I shot. I watched this buck fight another buck for about a minute and a half, soon after the bucks were headed straight to me. The deer gave me a broadside shot at 60 yards and I hit him directly in the shoulder. He went about 20 yards and fell over. The buck scored 141 4/8.
