it was November the eighth. It was a southwest wind. I only had two spots that were good for that wind. I had hunted the one spot the two nights before. So I decided to go to the ground blind behind my house. I was only expecting to see some yearlings. But around five-thirty I heard something to my right. He was standing in the food plot 15 yards away. i had gotten pictures of this deer all year long. but he hadn't daylighted since October the first. So i picked my bow up drew back and he gave me a 16-yard quartering-away shot. I didn't know he was quartering that much so I thought I had made a bad shot. So I went back to the house and got my dad and some lights. At first we couldn't find any blood so we went in the direction he ran and we saw my lighted nock. It was covered in blood. So I squatted down and saw him lying there. He only went 40 yards!
