Hunt Story
My daddy and I got to the deer stand around 4:15 p.m. The first deer came out around 4:34 p.m. It looked like a small 6-point buck, but I knew he was too small to shoot. As we waited, I wondered if I made a mistake about the first buck. About 20 minutes later, we saw another buck across the fence in another part of our land. He was peeking out of the woods. My heart was racing as we waited for him to jump the fence, so I could get a clear shot. When the deer crossed the fence, he was 300 yards away. I put the cross hairs on his shoulder. When I pulled the trigger, I knew I had him. He buckled, ran about 40 yards, and expired. -Caleb Sanders
