Hunt Story
I usually only hunt this spot in the afternoon but changed it up and took a chance on a morning hunt. I got in there early and had a small 8-point come by about 30 minutes after light. I heard a light grunt to my left and never could see the deer. It wasn't long before I could hear one walking through the dry leaves. I finally caught movement, and it only took a glimpse to know what deer it was. I had an encounter earlier in the year with him and never got a shot that time. It didn't take long before he offered me the perfect shot opportunity, so I took it and the 2 blade Stinger hit the mark. I knew he couldn't make it far, so I called my wife and told her to get the camera ready and bring the kids. It was a short track job and we (family and hunting buddies) had a celebration!
