Hunt Story

Me, my dad and my family went to check the trail cameras today and feed the deer, trying to see if we could find any good bucks cruising through in the daytime hours. While we were checking the trail cameras, we saw a couple of nice bucks on the east side of our property. My dad said the best spot will be this one. So we got in the stand around 4:30 p.m. and about 5:30 my dad started to rattle and grunt and used the doe in estrous can once. A few minutes went by and we start hearing crunching in the leaves and limbs shaking. Then it stopped and got quiet. The next thing I knew my dad was tapping me saying there he is buddy, shoot him. I lifted the gun up and put it right on his shoulder and pulled the trigger. He jumped in the air and fell straight down. My heart was beating so fast, and I wanted to get down right them and go see him. My dad said let's wait a few minutes and then we will get down... so finally about 10 minutes went by that felt like 30. We finally were walking to him when I saw just how big he was and I about started crying. I was so happy all of the hard work and patience paid off.
