Hunt Story
Hi my name is Caden Overholt, i was fortunate to get drawn for Panola State Park. My dad and I were sitting in the stand in a little thicket. It was raining a little, we were all bundled up to keep dry. About 2 hours after daylight we were sitting there, when my dad started poking me. I looked over and saw this deer at 20 yards. The gun was laid on my climber, the buck came 10 yards and looked right at us for a few seconds and whirled and took bout 3 hops back. At the same moment he hopped back I grabbed the rifle, all in one motion,I stood and propped. I pulled the trigger and he ran about 50 yards and fell over. Then about an hour later a nice 7 point came in and i killed him too. It was a very exciting hunt.
