Hunt Story

Cade and I hurried to get in a last minute hunt on the evening of 12/29. We got to our ground blind and had just got settled with shooting sticks up when a deer popped out in the perfect place in the field. I put the binos on the deer and saw he was a racked buck. We got the .257 Roberts up on the sticks, and Cade looked through the scope at the deer. Then, I heard the heavy breathing when he saw the deer's rack. The deer stood with a slight quartering-to angle. The deer was looking away down the field, and Cade began taking deep breaths as he aimed. He said he was dead still and could shoot. At the crack of the rifle, the deer fell right where it stood. We got down to the deer, and Cade started thanking the Good Lord....as did I. Cade's twin brother Bryce and their older brother, Reece, helped up load up the deer, and we celebrated another blessed day in the woods.
