Hunt Story

The buck had come in the night before opening day at about 7:30 PM. At about 7:45 PM on opening day, I could see him walking down the edge of a food plot toward me. He angled off in to the woods then walked in front of me at about 22 yards. Once he gave me a clear shot, I released my arrow. I felt confident in the shot. As he was running off, I noticed the arrow sticking out of him. Once I climbed down, I found the arrow laying in the food plot. There were only about 4 inches that had broken off in him. After following the blood trail for a few hundred yards, it quickly ran out. After looking for several hours, we decided to let him lay over night and come back the next day to look for him. The next morning, I went back to the last place that we had found blood and began looking. After only about 30 minutes of looking, I walked a couple hundred more yards from the last place that we had found blood and found him.
