Hunt Story

Got in a tripod stand around 3:00 pm on 1/3/2016 and right before last light he was chasing a doe that just came out of the woods and made a shot on him while chasing. Didn't find any blood at all and thought I missed. Two others (Cranley Ward & Billy Payne) that were hunting came over to help look for him, and after 45 minutes of just looking in the direction he ran, Billy found him dead 100 yards away from where I shot him. He was shot in the shoulder with a 30-06 at 75 yards, and there was no exit wound. He was no less than 200 lbs (on the hoof). We had trail-cam pics of this deer from November 2015, but never saw him in a stand while hunting. We jumped him once after Thanksgivings while heading back to our trucks, but he has been a late-night buck around our cameras. Thanks God for him coming my way on Sunday.
