Hunt Story

Been watching this deer for 2 years. He showed up in July in full velvet and simply made his rounds almost daily with his other buck buddies and does. The week leading up to the kill, he would make his round to the feeder and food plots and just tending to his harem of about 5 does. He would show up at this spot every day and just as the sun would come up, he would slip back into his bedding area, not to be seen agojn until the next day, yet an hour later each day. It was only a matter of timing for me. Waiting for the right day for him to stick around at first light. I sat in the stand every day just hoping he would stick around until he finally did. The morning of the kill, there he stood. As the sun shone through the trees, the light hitting his back, there he stood broadside, looking at me as if to say, Hello there and Good Morning to you. The he fell and din't flinch. Biggest deer of my life. 214 pounds and a giant for this county I am in. This is where patience, attention to detail and persistence pays off.
