Hunt Story
I wake up to my dad asking me if i want to kill a big deer. Of course my first action is removing the covers that were on top of me. The second was killing the deer that was feeding and chasing a doe in my backyard. There was a mad scramble to find my bow, but eventually I found my little brothers and thankfully an arrow was included in the quiver. The door that connected my parents room to our back porch presented the perfect opportunity to take my first bow kill. As my father slowly opened the door I drew back the bow and cut my finger on the tip of the arrow not flinching a muscle. My blood was on the arrow now and at that moment I knew something great was about to happen. I stepped out into the heaviest snow Hall County has seen in years. The adrenaline running through my body made the icy pain of the snow seem obsolete. The draw on the bow was short and felt unusual but I compromised. My eye was led to the peep hole then from there to the yellow pin of my brother's bow. I knew I had to use that pin based on the weight of the bow when I pulled it back. I closed my left eye took a deep breath prayed to God and let the arrow fly. Pow a perfect double lung shot. The deer barely moved and walked 10 yards straight ahead fell on the ground and died.
