Hunt Story
I actually missed this deer last season (2018) in the same area, and my wife and I both saw him during the 2018 bow season. This August 2019 I got a few trail-cam pics of him, so I knew he was still here. So I’ve been looking for him all season, and today 11/3/19 just so happened to be my lucky day. I had climbed up on a finger out in a clearcut. I had previously seen deer in the area from a different stand located at the other end of the clearcut. I had to 2 does off to my right and they had been hanging around for 15 or 20 minutes, I just so happened to turn my head to the left and there he was trotting toward the does maybe 75 to 80 yards. I put my gun on him and shot, and he ran about 40 to 50 yards and fell over.
