Hunt Story
I have been seeing signs of bucks checking does in other counties and knew that things could be heating up. My plan was actually to hunt another spot in another county but some things changed that and after not having any deer on camera here since the early season and with a terrible wind I took my chances and knew I had to be in the stand. My hunting apps showed 3-5 to be a great hunting time so I was sure to leave the house at 2 for my hour drive. I got in about 3:30, and after some does came through minutes after I got in the stand he came in about 4:30 by himself upwind scent checking the area. As soon as he gave me a 20-yard shot facing me I put my crossbow scope right on his chest and slowly pulled the trigger. The shot was perfect and he went down within seconds after the shot. Right place right time and I am glad to put my hands on one of my largest Georgia deer.
