Hunt Story

My son, Riles, and I were hunting on Sunday morning. We decided to take some rattling horns to see if we could draw a good buck into the area. After rattling a couple of times, 2 small bucks came to the food plot. We also saw a couple of does this morning early. After about 3 hours in the stand, we decided to climb down, (and Riles had to use the bathroom). We took about 5 steps behind the stand and I saw this buck coming and looking straight at us. I told Riles to get down, and I eased his rifle off of my shoulder and eased the bolt back to put a bullet in the chamber. The buck was still looking at us, and after about 3 minutes he put his head down to take another step. I stood up and made a shot in the left front shoulder. We heard him fall after running about 40 yards. This was a great hunt to be able to enjoy with my son, ( who usually does the shooting).
