Hunt Story
I have been hunting a grove of white oak tree in Oglethorpe County for about two weeks. Three smaller bucks have been spotted in the area earlier in the season. On Saturday, Oct. 1, a small 8-point buck came into range and I watched him feed on acorns. I let him walk. An hour later, this larger 8-pointer buck came into sight. He slowly moved near enough for me to get a good shot. After the shot, I trailed him and found him about 40 yards away.
