Hunting a 3-acre pine stand from a treestand about 14 feet high. There is a grass field to the west of the pines. Got into the stand about 6:15. When I approached the pines from the west two does left the field to the north. Wind was coming out of the E-NE. At about 6:45 I noticed a doe to the east and she showed interest in something to my south. I looked over to where she was looking and noticed the buck coming up the fence line about 40 yards to the east. I observed the buck's credentials and decided to take the shot. He came back in my direction about 10 yards and fell at the edge of the pines. I was using a .270 Winchester carbine with a scope.
