Hunt Story

I discovered this buck "Elvis" at the end of August. This buck was almost completely nocturnal until late November. On the morning of the 27th, he was on my food plot at at 5:20. I was at the 'oval office' when my wife came out of the bedroom. She looked at me and I said he is there RIGHT NOW! She replies, "You better wipe your *** and get your butt in the woods." I'm in this stand one hour legal shooting hours. I slipped in unnoticed. The deer were all in the woods fighting, snort-wheezing, breaking branches, running, bleating under me for 20 minutes. Then it poured for two hours. When the rain stopped, I grabbed rattle bag and hit it hard for 7 seconds, and a doe and button buck ran to me. The button rolled into the area where I suspected the deer were bedding. He ran back to the plot with mama and a small buck ran to that area, then the doe fought another doe and returned to the plot. This buck walked toward the plot and stopped short, then on into the plot. I drew my bow but discharged arrow accidentally. He jumped and stomped, but stayed facing away from me. I nocked another arrow and hit him PERFECT! he went 40 yards and crashed. Elvis has left the building!!!
