Hunt Story
We have a food plot in a larger field surrounded by some hardwood and pines. Had got in my stand about 4:30 p.m. just got all set up and about 15 minutes later saw deer come out of hardwoods to my front left and jumped the fence and trotted across end of field just beyond food plot. Realized he was a shooter, immediately raised my Thompson Center Encore in 7mm mag, cocked it and took the shot as he got about 2/3 of the way across field. The deer went about 5 yards and made a u-turn headed back the way he came as if not hit, then started to slow, came to a stop, wobbled and fell in sight about 30 yards from where he was when shot.
