Hunt Story
When Judy and I bought Wolf Pines Farm not only were the thoughts of homesteading this beautiful farm but pursuing whitetail deer were in mind. Bo, pictured here, suddenly showed a lot of interest in learning how to scout, hunt, manage, and prepare the land for his first deer. After days and weeks of discussions, pics, shooting practices, filling feeders, and swapping stories with neighbors, he patiently waited for me to bring him along when the time was right. He wished for a 10 point and this dude decided to show himself for the first time. I had not seen this deer on camera, but a friend/neighbor had many pics of him over the summer. He came out looking for does pushing a couple around then broke off by himself working a scrape at 50 yards. We had to swap shooting windows at the last second, but Bo was able to settled on the shoulder quickly with the suppressed 308 dropping the 10-point in his tracks. He wanted to know why he was shaking and feeling butterflies afterwards. "This is why we hunt - the feeling never stops". Thank you so much Jeremy Phillips for the incredible pictures!
