Hunt Story

A co-worker of mine came gave me permission to hunt his house. I came over and got set up on Tuesday morning, sat until 11 a.m. and hadn't seen anything. I elected to switch from my climber to a ground blind so that Thursday evening I went back to set it up after work. After popping it up and getting my things situated, my wife spotted movement about 100 yards away. It was two deer and the second was him. I went back to the truck and grabbed my bow and slid back in the blind. Patiently waiting, I finally caught movement of him coming through some thick vines. His antlers were hung in them and he was ripping them free. He got within 34 yards but all I could see was his body. It was a residential area so I wanted to make sure I was able to make a high percentage shot. After feeding around for 20-30 minutes he finally presented it to me and I drilled him. After knocking on a few neighbors doors we recovered him. Everyone was very helpful.
