Hunt Story

My grandfather took me hunting in the afternoon after school. We were watching the pasture near my home for what seemed like forever. I did not realize when a few does walked out of some nearby bushes. Then the next thing I saw was a buck walk out, I pulled up my .243 and clicked the safety off then all of the sudden I pulled the trigger. We saw it again, and it just stood there for a few seconds and then ran off. We started looking for the deer after 30 minutes. We looked all through the broom sage of the field and couldn’t find it. Me and my dad went to eat supper, so that we would be ready to look more. When we went back out to look we had not walked 10 feet in the woods when we spotted the deer near an old tractor. When I saw that the buck had six points, I could not stop grinning. I had shot my first deer!
