Hunt Story
It was a great hunt, cold weather and pre-rut conditions with does frequently in the food plot. We almost decided not to hunt but decided to go at the last minute. We walked in and found one buck in the plot already. We were able to crawl in and get set without pushing him out. We settled in and watched this buck feed and move out. After a while a few mature does came in and the target buck right behind them. He began to push one of the does around and out of sight. We decided to be ready in case they came back in. Sure enough they came back the target buck stopped at 100 yards broadside, and Beau was on him. Beau took the shot and the buck showed signs of a good hit. We waited impatiently and went to where the target buck was hit. We trailed blood to the buck and retrieved him. This was Beau’s second buck ever and his tag-out buck this year. It was a great hunt and even better a great outdoors memory for a father and son.
