Hunt Story

I was sitting in a tower stand over looking an old feed lot, I had been sitting since 4:00 pm that afternoon. I saw a feral cat and was looking at him through my binoculars. When I turned around, the buck was standing on the edge of the field in a pathway cut through the adjoining timber. I got my gun ready and placed the crosshairs on the tip of his shoulder. He was quartering toward me, so I squeezed off the shot. He ran toward the stand my dad was sitting in, but he turned and crashed into the woods. My dad and I met at the pathway and tracked him on the edge of the field. He crashed into a briar thicket where we found him laying. He is my third and biggest buck to date, and I am proud to have shot him with the Browning .270 my Papa gave me this year.
