Hunt Story

I had this deer on my game camera for a few weeks. I had one daytime picture about 7;30 am and several about 6 am. This particular morning I looked at the feeding times on the DNR app and it says mid-day and it had 5 stars. I was thinking it would be a long sit. When the sun came up it wasn’t 30 minutes when I saw him eating acorns along the creek. I went ahead and stood up and got ready. Watching him feed he started up the hill and feeding away from me. The wind was blowing towards him and I was using the conquest scent ever calm in my Thermacell and the stick. As he went up the hill I debated whether to grunt and try to get him to come my way or not. Without me grunting he turned around and started towards me. He stopped with his head behind a tree with his body exposed about 30 yards out. I let the rage broadhead do its work. It took off and ran about 50 yards from the double lung shot. Then the work began !!
