Hunt Story
We got to the stand late and ran three does off coming into the stand. Once we were in the stand we saw four other does immediately coming up the trail. As does got closer, I saw a buck at about 150 yards away coming up the same trail. He got in behind an oak thicket. I waited for him to come out, and when he did I couldn't get a clear shot. Was about to take a shot but he lay down in the tall cover. He stood up about 15 minutes later. There were maybe eight does in the area. He walked back into another oak thicket before I could get a shot. I told my daddy I was gonna be late for school in the morning cause I was coming back to this stand in the morning before school. About 10 minutes later the buck appeared from nowhere off to my left and presented a 40- to 50-yard broadside shot. I squeezed the trigger, and we knew I had made a good shot. We waited about 5 minutes and walked over to the trail and saw a good blood trail. We walked up the trail about 50 yards and there was my prize.
