Hunt Story
I was excited about getting out of school early Friday to start our Christmas break! Dad was picking me up and we were heading to the woods to try and get a big doe for the freezer! Little did we know this trip would end up with a big buck down! We got to the stand at about 3:45 p.m. The wind was in our faces and the food plot was pretty and green! We waited for what seemed like forever, I even took a nap until dad woke me up saying there's a deer! It was a button buck so we waited for about another 30 minutes. Then I spotted a group of deer easing into the food plot, one was a big mature doe! Dad said thats the one you want to take, so as I waited for her to give me a clear shot, we heard something behind us! Dad whispered don't move or make a sound, Big Buck behind us, he was hot on a doe's tail. Then dad said they gonna get downwind of us so we've got to make this happen quick. Dad took my rifle and quickly and quietly as possible spun my chair around and handed my rifle back to me. Dad asked, have you found him in the scope? I gave a thumbs up! Dad said do what you do! I took a quick breath put the crosshairs on the buck's shoulders and squeezed the trigger! Boom! I dropped him! I was so excited and was shaking all over!
