Hunt Story
I have watched this deer grow over the past two years. I'd been able to pattern him over the summer. The day he dropped his velvet, he moved to another part of the property about half a mile away where he frequented last season. I went that morning and didn't see anything. It rained most of the day, but stopped about halfway through the UGA game so I decided to try my luck again. I got in my ground blind at approximately 6 pm. By 7 pm, the first deer came out, a doe and spike. About 15 minutes later, I saw movement 75yds away. I looked through my binoculars and it was him. I texted my wife, "HE'S HERE!" He came in and gave a perfect shot broadside. The arrow went straight through and I watched him crash about 60yds away. I killed him with my Matthews Vertix bow I received as a weekly winner of the 2019 Truck Buck contest. This is my biggest deer ever and the biggest killed on the family property I hunt - approximately 800 acres.
