Hunt Story
We started our hunt around 3:45P.M. As we were walking in a small doe ran across the road bed with a smaller 8-pointer chasing her. I really couldn’t get a good prop so I decided to wait to see if they would come back around in the pines. We got settled in and never did see the smaller deer, but around 5:30 my husband tapped me to show me 4 doe feeding to the right of us. They grazed and disappeared into the planted pines. Around 5:50 we started to pack up and I seen a deer come out of the pines about 250 yards from us. I could tell it was a big-bodied deer, so I told my husband to look and see what it was. He said it was a shooter so I got my rifle up and was trying to get on him but he keep facing us. After watching him for what felt like forever (5min) he turned broadside and gave a shot. I was very nervous I had missed him but with a little tracking we found him about 50 yards from where I shot him piled up in some briers.
