Hunt Story

It was Thanksgiving day, and me and my grandfather went to the box stand we call The Motel. There was a slight chance of rain, so we chose The Motel because it's covered so we wouldn't get wet if it rained. We got to the stand pretty early and it was still dark, so we sat there and waited for it to get daylight. I was tired that morning so I took a nap before it got daylight. It was about 7 and my grandfather woke me and said, "I guess I'm going to have to shoot that buck." So I got my gun up and looked at him through the scope, and I could see that he had a pretty good rack, so I got ready for the shot. He was about to jump the fence then I shot him. He mule kicked and ran about 10 yard and I shot again. That shot dropped him, and we were celebrating, and I looked at him through the scope one more time, and I could see he was trying to get up so I shot him again. That shot finished him. We started to get down and walked to him, I was still shaking from excitement. When I was walking up to him he kept getting bigger and bigger. When I got up to him I realized that I shot the buck we called Top Hat. We had many pictures of him on the trail cameras, and we had been hunting him since the beginning of rifle season. I called my daddy and he couldn't believe it. This is a Thanksgiving I will never forget.
