Hunt Story
Got to the stand early sat in the dark for about 30 minutes. Scared two deer off walking to my stand. It was super cold this morning in the low 20. There were a lot of scrapes and rubs in the area, and I knew there were some mature bucks in the area. Did not set long before the action started. About 7:20 I heard some deer walking to my left. It sounded like a buck tending a doe. I kept looking for them, and finally the doe came up a hill about 60 yards to my left. I got my gun up because I knew there was a buck following her, and as soon as I saw him I knew he was a shooter. I put a Remington hypersonic right through his heart, and he only went about 20 feet and fell over dead. We took the jaw bone out and aged him at 5 1/2 years old estimated, weight was pushing 200 pounds, a stud of a buck for that area of Banks County!
