Hunt Story
I was waiting for the perfect wind to hunt this spot in the evening. I had an 8-point coming in regularly. The hunt got off to a late start due to getting back to town late from an out-of-town Pop Warner football game. After getting in the stand, I had a buck come into the edge of the food plot, but would never come in. I'm not sure it was the deer I shot or the 8-point I had come to hunt. A couple of does came in the food plot at about 0545pm. A small spike came in and chased does around and grunted in the food plot for a good 30 minutes. Around 0700pm walked out at 25 yards in the food plot just out of my shooting lanes and walked right under my tree. I shot him at about 8 yards after stopping him with a mouth grunt. I recovered him after about 1 hour with my two boys.
