Hunt Story

On 10/24/2021 I decided to hunt a hardwood creek bottom located on my property. My property is located in North Ben Hill County. I climbed in a ladder stand and checked the wind which was slightly from the North. It was around 8:45 when I climbed up. Just before 9:00 I hit my estrus can 3 times followed by 3 tending grunts. Within a minute or so I caught movement coming my way. I then realized it was a buck. After realizing it was was a buck I was familiar with, I decided to make the shot. I then placed my cross hairs on the bucks left front shoulder then squeezed off. The buck jumped when I hit him and ran around 50 yards while in sight. I could see the blood dripping from the entrance hole. I then watched the buck fall and expire. Minutes later I recovered him. It was a hunt I’ll never forget.
