Hunt Story

We had been watching this buck (Double Beam) on trail cameras thru the summer and quickly determined he was 5 years old and a shooter. His favorite spot to hang out was at my food plot so we tried to get on him in bow season but never connected. We were able to back off on opening day of rifle and sit in my tower stand. It was really foggy but as soon as we could see good, I made out a big body deer in the plot. After looking at it for a couple minutes with our binoculars, my dad and I finally made out his extra beam on his right side! I then quickly settled my crosshairs on his shoulder and squeezed off a shot. We couldn’t tell or see anything after the shot and thought he might be down. After about an hour, we went down to where he was standing and he wasn’t there but we found some hair but no blood. I then was able to find some blood just inside the woods and followed a big blood trail right to him! My 6.5 was spot on and hit him right where i was aiming!
