Hunt Story

My wife Hannah and I entered the woods around 2:30 pm. We hung our Summit climbing stands onto tree and began to climb. On the way up, Hannah had to saw off three thick tree limbs as I was dodging them below. As we began to get settled in, the wind switched directions. Originally, it was supposed to be a NW wind, but that ended up not being the case. I had insisted on getting down, and stated to her "if this was my hunt I would get down." She stated, "We are up here now and I am not getting down". As the evening went on, we began to see several deer. Around 5:00 pm, my wife stated "here comes the big buck!" I told her to get her bow ready, at that time another large buck came in sight". About 10 minutes later, both bucks approached us within range, she instantly knew which buck was the shooter when her and the buck made eye contact. As she stated, "It is the pretty deer with the sunk in face." At 27 yards it's the longest shot she had ever made with her Hoyt bow, we waited about 20 minutes then started our climb down. As we approach the large buck Hannah began to jump with joy. We have had this buck on camera for over 2 years and she had always said "this is the buck I want to shoot." With this only being her 5th deer, she made it happen.
