Hunt Story
On Saturday December 5th, I was sitting in the middle of a 30-acre rye field in a ground blind positioned against an irrigation pivot tire. I had a group of 10-12 does on the north side of the field and 10-12 does on the south side of the field. It was getting late, so I had decided to take a doe for my father. As I began to pull the trigger on a doe, I noticed movement out of my left eye. One look and I knew it was the buck me and my cousin Jason had been chasing since 2018. I repositioned my shooting sticks and pulled the trigger. The buck spun around and bolted down in the swamp. After a 100- to 125-yard track we recovered the buck and the celebrating began.
