Hunt Story
I had seen a chase earlier in the morning that consisted of four bucks chasing a doe. It was a chase that you get to see only once every couple of years. It was around 45 minutes after they had left that I looked over in the short pines to see just the body of a deer walking out through there, but I couldn't tell what he was right away. Then he finally lifted his head and I saw immediately it was the deer we were getting pictures of. I quickly got my grunt call and grunted a few times and he started heading my way. He went through a deep ditch along the lane and came out on the food plot I was in and started eating beans. After a little bit he came on a beeline to the box stand I made to be able to shoot my bow out of, and when he passed by the open window I stopped him at 10 yards and made a lung and heart shot. He ran out to 60 to 70 yards and fell over in the food plot.
