Hunt Story
We have had this deer on camera for several years so we knew he was a mature buck, probably 6 years old. I was hunting out of a ground blind in planted pines. I had been in the blind since 5:15 p.m. with no deer coming through at all until 6:55 when 3 does and a fawn came in. My field of vision was very tight, but I could hear a deer coming in from my right and could tell it was probably a buck, so I got my crossbow up and ready. The second he came into view I knew it was him, and within two steps he was perfectly broadside at about 20 yards, so I took the shot. He went down quickly, and we found him about 60 yards away.
