Hunt Story
On Dec. 5 at Oaky Woods WMA, at 10 minutes past 9 a.m., I caught movement out of my right eye behind me and to my right. As I turned my head to look, I saw a deer steadily walking, and I saw that it was a buck. I quickly stood up and leaned against the tree and raised my rifle. As he entered an area between two trees, I followed in my scope and fired my Remington .270. The buck went down and kicked around. It was not until I reached him some 50 yards away that I realized how good he was. I hope he's a winner in the GON Truck-Buck Shoot-Out.
