Hunt Story
On the morning of the 25th, I went hunting on a 300-acre tract of land in north Crisp County. It was 38 degrees with calm winds. At approximately 6:30-6:45 a.m., I could just see down a food plot that my son and I had planted. I saw a deer but was unable to tell exactly what it was without my binoculars. Once I looked through the binoculars, I saw a shooter buck. While I was getting my rifle up to shooting position the buck turned and went directly into the woods. I chuckled at myself and thought, "you blew it". I decided to do a series of grunt calls. Approximately five minutes later a buck started walking directly across the food plot to the other side. I shouldered my rifle and looked through the scope, saw horns, then proceeded to the target and shot. Not knowing if that was the same deer I had just seen, I decided to sit for about 30 minutes. After getting down, I tracked blood for about 40 yards in and found that I shot a very nice 10 point buck. I give all the glory to God for such a magnificent harvest.
