Hunt Story

My husband had seen this buck OTH (on the hoof) on two occasions but couldn't get a shot. He had already harvested a buck, so he let me sit this tower blind. On day one at our lease, I set out and got in the stand after a stare down with a curious doe who finally wandered into the food plot giving me a chance to get into the stand. We had pictures of this buck as did several other members so I was hoping for a chance. I settled in at 3 p.m., and I typically focus on the food plot at this stand and occasionally look back down the road behind me. Just as I turned to look, I saw a shadow that didn't look like a tree and then his head popped out and I knew it was the big 12! I got my gun up and tried to get him in my scope but, he kept a steady walk into the taller pines across the road. I had to adjust to another window and stopped him with a "maaaah", then shot. He was at 75 yards out and only ran 20 yards! I had been in the stand for less than one hour!! I thank my husband Tom for the great scouting job!!
