Hunt Story

I started out the morning going to a spot I scouted out during bow season. Once I came to the gate I saw that someone had drawn a map showing 3 other hunters had gotten around the spot I had wanted, but little did I know that that would work to my advantage. So instead of going to the right I went to the left and set my stand up in a small little oak tree. I forgot my saw and didn't get to get as high as I would have liked because of some limbs. At daylight I swear I heard a deer grunt, but could never see him. And around 7:30 I just so happened to turn around and saw coming up the hill was one of God's beautiful animals! He started walking toward me, and when he got 30 yards I threw up in front of his shoulder and pulled the trigger. Next thing I saw was him hitting the ground like a sack of potatoes. Right after I shot him, I called my dad and said I had just shot a nice buck. He said he would be there as soon as he could. So I got down and when I got about 10 yards I realized he was the biggest buck I had ever killed. I admittedly started to thank the good Lord for what he had just blessed me with.
