Hunt Story

First time hunting this property, scouted at 1:00 to 2:00, saw a number of scrapes and rubs. Set up at 4:30 to hunt, sitting on the ground in a swivel chair in front of a blow down. No camouflage clothing except my hat, no bait, no lures or cover scents, no calls or antler rattling. Deer came in at 5:30 and dropped out of sight below me behind the downed tree I was sitting beside. When he came back into view he saw me move and turned and ran about 50 or 60 yards in the direction that he came from. He made the mistake of stopping and looking back to see what it was that moved, and I shot him in the neck. Dropped like a ton of bricks in his tracks, I watched him for a few minutes and recovery was within 8 to 10 minutes.
