Hunt Story
We had been watching this buck for the past couple of years, actually let him walk last year. He put on more mass this year and we decided to harvest him if the opportunity arose. I climbed into my stand about 4:00 the afternoon of Wednesday, the 23rd of October. Several does started passing through feeding all around on acorns, with 2 smaller bucks feeding close by. Finally, the big boy started coming in from behind and to my left, stopping at approximately 30 yards away giving me a broadside shot. I slowly raised my rifle, taking care not to spook the other deer, found him in my crosshairs and squeezed the trigger. He fell in his tracks! Judy Milam
