Hunt Story
Being pressed for time due to a family dinner for my mother’s birthday, I decided to hunt the back hayfield before having to leave. I got ready for dinner before going hunting, so all I had to do was jump in the truck and go when I got done hunting. Around 5:15 multiple does started easing out into the field, shortly followed by this 10-point and another 8-point. As I watched the deer, I noticed the 10-point had something weird about the side of his top jaw. I decided to shoot the buck and the rest is history. After skinning the deers head for a skull mount, I discovered what it was in his jaw area. Someone had shot this buck with a bow and the broken off arrow/broadhead was dull stuck inside the buck's nose/mouth. Infection, along with maggots had already set in and the wound area was beginning to rot.
