Hunt Story

I was heading out the door to go hunting on another club, when my brother called me. He told me to look at my phone and the pictures he sent of a big buck that had shown up on our family property. I told him that I would come straight over. We met and made our way into the stand on the clearcut about 3 p.m. Does and small bucks started showing up and were feeding in various places all over the clearcut. About 5 p.m. a group of does got spooked and left the clearcut, and it left us with only 2 other deer very far and over the edge of the clearcut. About 5:20 my brother caught movement out and to his left through the pines. He watched with his binoculars as the deer made his way up closer to the clearcut. He then noticed the rack, and told me to get ready. I positioned myself and rifle on a large opening in the pines. The buck made his way slowly up the pines and then stopped, he didn't like the situation. The lack of deer in the clearcut was making him uneasy. I was on him wit the scope and waited until he turned and gave me the shot I wanted. He turned and stopped and then I dropped him there with one shot at 125 yards. We watched him for a minute and then decided to go ahead and go over to him.
